Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to complying with all Australian consumer protection laws.
Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Guarantees
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), contained in the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
Under the ACL:
-
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
-
You are also entitled to have the goods replaced or repaired if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
-
“Acceptable quality” means the goods are safe, durable, and free from defects, and that they look and perform as expected.
For more information about your rights, visit the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) website: www.accc.gov.au
2 Year Manufacturer Warranty
In addition to your rights under the ACL, we proudly offer a 2-year (twenty-four month) manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Any defect that appears within 2 years (twenty-four months) following the goods acceptance shall be considered a defect that existed at the time of acceptance, unless the nature of the defect excludes this option.
Warranty Exclusions
This manufacturer warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, neglect, improper care, or modification.
Crucially, this warranty specifically excludes general wear and tear.
General wear and tear includes the natural and expected deterioration of materials over time with use, such as:
-
Thinning of soles
-
Fabric abrasion (pilling)
-
Colour fading
-
Any damage arising from normal, sustained use
Defective Product Claim Process
All warranty claims will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
To initiate a warranty claim for a suspected manufacturing defect (excluding general wear and tear), the Buyer must follow these steps:
-
Contact Us: The Buyer must inform the Seller about the suspected defect by contacting us via email at info@skinnersfootwear.com.au.
-
Assessment Information: We will usually request the Buyer to provide photographs or video evidence of the defect. We may, at our discretion, request the return of the item for detailed inspection by our team.
-
Assessment and Resolution: Once the Product has been assessed by our team and is found to have a genuine manufacturing defect, we will provide the Buyer with two options:
-
The Seller can either return the Buyer the price he/she paid for the Product together with the original shipping costs.
-
The Seller can send the Buyer a new Product.
-
It is the responsibility of the Buyer to choose between these two options and inform the Seller of their decision.
